book Nature‘s Best Hope,  Doug emphasizes practical actionable steps that gardeners and nature enthusiast can take in their own backyards to make a significant contribution to conservation efforts.

Doug Tallamy is a Garden Club of America honorary member and a 2013 recipient of GCA‘s Margaret Douglas medal for conservation education. He is a professor of Agriculture in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware. Doug has authored many publications and articles on insects and how they interact with plants to help the environment. In addition to Nature‘s Best Hope, his books include Bringing Nature Home, Living Landscape, co-authored with Rick Darke and The Nature of Oaks, winner of the American Horticultural Societies 2022 book award. In 2021 he cofounded Homegrown National Park with Michelle Alfandari.
